Could the Dallas Cowboys do the unthinkable and trade edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Philadelphia Eagles?

Cem Yolbulan of Sport DFW poses the possibility.

A recent report surfaced that the Cowboys were growing tired of Parsons’ antics, which has created some trade buzz around the superstar pass rusher.

Parsons became eligible for a contract extension this offseason, and if the rumors about Parsons’ behavior wearing thin on Dallas are true, it could affect negotiations.

On top of that, the Cowboys also have to worry about paying quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, so there is only so much money to go around, and if Dallas thinks Parsons is a locker-room issue, it could mean he will be the odd man out.

Yolbulan says that the Eagles could trade linebacker Nolan Smith, a first-round draft pick and a 2026 third-rounder to the Cowboys in exchange for Parsons. Smith would replace Parsons, and Dallas would add a couple of solid draft assets.

Of course, the chances of this happening are slim to none.

The Cowboys probably aren’t trading Parsons, and if they do, they almost certainly will not be sending him to Philadelphia.

If there really are problems between Parsons and Dallas, the two sides could always smooth things over, and you have to think the Cowboys will make a concerted effort to do just that.

Parsons is a special player, having made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three NFL seasons while adding a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections. Additionally, he has finished in the top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting all three campaigns.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Penn State, was selected by the Cowboys with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Micah Parsons has already racked up 40.5 sacks in 50 games.
