Steelers WR Roman Wilson to Attend NFLPA Rookie Premiere
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson will attend the 2024 NFLPA Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles, the league’s players union announced on Thursday.

The invite-only event brings the top rookies — 40 this year — together for the official unveiling of their first NFL jerseys, trading card photo shoots, and other sponsor-driven events. Wilson will wear No. 10 with the Steelers after wearing No. 1 in college.

“NFLPA Rookie Premiere is an opportunity for partners to engage with tomorrow’s most influential athletes, and we are thrilled to be back in person to help facilitate those introductions and experiences,” NFL Players Inc. president Steve Scebelo said in 2022.

The players will also go through a rookie orientation on the NFLPA programs and services and hear from past players that have navigated the landscape of becoming a professional football player.

“NFLPA Rookie Premiere is an opportunity for partners to engage with tomorrow’s most influential athletes, and we are thrilled to be back in person to help facilitate those introductions and experiences,” Scebelo said.

Wilson was the Steelers’ first of two third-round picks at No. 84 overall. He was one of the later-picked players selected to attend the event. The Michigan alum played his high school football in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Steelers first-round pick Troy Fautanu and second-round pick Zach Frazier were not invited. No Steelers rookie attended the premiere last season. Kenny Pickett and George Pickens were both there in 2022.
